Meet Krystal Heffernan
As a Program Coordinator for AES, Krystal gets in touch with school administrators and AES instructors to ensure quality experiences for students at a variety of schools in Fresno Unified. As a former instructor, she helps to guide others in fun and meaningful lessons regarding environmental science.
With a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a passion for recreational activities such as rock climbing, Krystal knows how to teach lessons that include the element of fun!
She is excited to see the many ways students interact with the curriculum and instructors! She loves to be able to help engage students in the material, connecting it to their personal interests and diverse personalities. She says, “It’s heartwarming to see that the kids look forward to new adventures every day while learning about their environment and how to care for it better!”
During her free time, Krystal loves to go to the gym and spend time with her nieces and nephews. She especially loves taking her dog Bjorne on hikes to explore new and beautiful places! Her passion for exploring outdoor spaces shines through in her work and helps all she works with build an appreciation for the natural world as well.
